Welcome!

The research team at Parabon NanoLabs is conducting research sponsored by the National Institute on Aging to create an accurate genetic risk prediction model for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) using genetic data from individuals of any ethnic background. As part of this research, studies are being conducted to evaluate how best to communicate the results of such a prediction, assess barriers and facilitators to the use of such a model, and evaluate the usability and impact of the product.

After reading and signing the required consent agreement, you will be asked to participate in one or more of the following studies:

  • Usability study: Review sample AD prediction results and interact with a website displaying "next steps" you could take, then fill out a questionnaire about the usability of the tool.
  • Pilot study: Securely upload your existing genome-wide DNA data to the study server, access the results of your AD risk prediction, navigate through the prototype user interface and narrate your thoughts, fill out a questionnaire about the usability of the tool, and fill out a questionnaire about the emotional impact of the experience.

If you are participating in the pilot study, you will receive a free analysis of your genetic Alzheimer's risk. If you are interested in being considered for this study, please email the Parabon research team at Alzheimers-Research@parabon.com, call 703.689.9689 x251, or register online at the Alzheimer's Registration page.

Once you have been accepted into the Alzheimer's Research study, you can sign in on this page and complete the tasks listed under your account. You can download an example copy of the Consent and Authorization Form to review it offline. Please note however, this is a sample copy and you must register with the study to fill out and sign the official consent form through the participant portal.
